Chinese Translator Since 2008

My name is Lin Guo. Born in China, I studies English language and literature at a domestic university where I completed my BA degree.

Following this, I started my career as a translator and interpreter for a large-sized company which construct chemical plants overseas. I spent three years in their construction sites in Pakistan, Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia. My duty included translating documents, interpreting at sites, labs, meetings, inspection and training sessions, and negotiating with local vendors. While back at the head office, I prepared biding documents in collaboration with technical and budget colleagues.  

Later, I shifted to work as an inhouse translator at a translation agency as I found a long-lost love of words and writing. During this period, I gained more language knowledge as well as sharpened my translating skills. 

In 2012, I decided to become a self-employed translator. I also took the opportunity to obtain a CATTI translator certification. I now work on a freelance basis with international clients in EU, USA, Australia and more.

I am a full member of the UK Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) and the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL), both of which recognise professional translators of a high standard.

What sets me apart from many other translators is my passion, dedication and enthusiasm. My extreme attention to detail and meticulous approach filter through every step, from the initial contact through to the final delivery, to result in an exceptional translation product.
